Visit a market in the city, where locals congregate to meet their friends for breakfast after they are done with marketing vegetables, fruits and meat. Fishmongers, butchers, fruits and vegetable sellers shout loudly as they grab your attention to make sales for the day. We then walk through alleyways seeing how the locals live in one of the oldest village called Kampung Baru. Houses here are built on stilts to overcome floods back in 1881. Due to rapid urban development, there are a handful of these stilt houses left. We then grab our way to a local’s house for our cooking class where you get to learn how to make ‘Nasi Lemak’, rice filled with coconut milk and pandan leaves.
