Masterplan pedestrians & cyclists

Took some researchers from UTM (a public university) on a cycle recce on the problematic cycling roads in Kuala Lumpur. We started early, 7.30am and finished off 11am as one of them had some prior engagement.

One of them was not a confident rider and I was preparing for the worst. I prepared bicycle toolkit and first aid. Always be ready and prepare for the worst.

We took them to Jalan Ampang Hilir, Kampung Desa Pandan, Jalan Nirwana, Pekan Ampang, Bandar Baru Ampang, Ampang Point and Jalan Jelatek. These were considered the major problematic routes as many bicycle users are at risk and there is a highway coming up, which ultimately would affect some of the roads.

It was nerve racking to watch the researchers cycle as sometimes they wobble on their bicycle but I had to keep calm and give words of encouragement. As a guide, we had to display a look of confident and always keep calm.

Some pictures taken today.
